Why I Picked It:
It's one of the books I grabbed at Target the other day. It looked like an easy read which might come in handy on an exhausted evening. Good call!
My Review:
I started this book a little after 6:00pm tonight after Laura fell asleep. I did take a little power nap around 7:00, and it's now 10:14pm. Read it cover to cover. That should tell you a lot right there. On the first page it says, "Believe the Impossible." The book is about Jane Margaux, age 8, a very lonely girl, daughter of a powerful Broadway producer. Lonely, except for her wonderful imaginary friend, Michael, who sadly leaves her on her 9th birthday, as is the rule for imaginary friends. He leaves, promising that by morning she will have forgotten all about him. But she doesn't forget. And neither does he. 23 years later... They meet again.
It took me about 150 pages to finally suspend my disbelief, and really just allow myself to simply enjoy the book. It's a James Patterson love story a little reminiscent of the movie City of Angels with Nicolas Cage and Meg Ryan, but different; there is a nice little twist, and I won't say anything to spoil the ending. Completely satisfying read for a Friday night that I didn't want to spend watching another banal dvd or tv show. I'm off to bed now! Author "P" Complete. :)
