Today's run needed to happen. I knew I would do it... eventually. Around 2pm, Craig came upstairs where I was laying on the couch waiting for the next load of laundry to dry, and asked me if I was going to run or not. I babbled my excuses - laundry, kids might wake up any minute, blah blah blah, then conceded that I was being lazy. Then I couldn't find my armband for my ipod. Then I opened the door and got hit with a blast of HOT air... Then...
I sucked it up and hit the streets. I wasn't sure where I was going or how far. My training schedule called for 7 miles, but I didn't run last week the way I should've. I was worried that it would be too much. Just decided to see how it went.
I did my typical loop - to the river trail, back up to the high school, then I turned back to return the same way, but made a turn north instead. I felt good, and ended up running just under 7 miles - 6.79 in 58 minutes. I've had no knee pain at all. So maybe there really is something to be said for moderation. (Insert collective "Duh!?" here.)
Tomorrow morning, I have a 5am appointment with a Personal Trainer at the gym. I'm not sure what I'm more nervous about - the session or getting up at 4:30am.
