Seriously. I thought that with all the frustration today stirred in me, I would have the most awesome run ever. But instead, I could feel my body just wanting to brood and plot. My run was slow and sluggish. The only thing that got me through was the fact that I had run on the streets, away from my house, and so I had to get back. And I wanted to be home fast, so I pushed harder.
Now that I'm home, I am still so livid. I am worked up. I have so much to say and I have to put it down somewhere.
I am 100% against Congress using its commerce power to mandate that an individual person engage in an economic transaction with a private company. This is as if when they bailed out GM, they mandated that all Americans must now buy a Chevy. Government should not enter into my private transactions and tell me when, what, and how much of something I should buy, and then if I don't, tax me even more. Where's the Constitutionally secured liberty, freedom from tyranny and prosperity in that?
Oh wait, I forgot, it's not MY prosperity we're securing now. There is this anti-American idea that we all need to be equal financially. Our family who has studied and worked hard, spent wisely, and saved much, must give our "excess" to Joe Loser who has never worked, spent his welfare foolishly and saved nothing - balancing us all out.
As I watched, knowing this unconstitutional bill was going to pass, I saw some of my friends posting on Facebook. I read through the arguments and it only stirred me to more frustration. All I can really say is that if any democrats are wondering if republicans will be voting for them in November? Ha! They are making no strides to win any of us over, that's for sure. Only ensuring more Scott Browns will be elected. And I'll send what's left of our money to support those campaigns.
What a mess. This must be fought, repealed, and the proper health care reforms need to be made. I agree there are many changes that should be made -- pre-existing conditions need to go, but those changes will come at a price. The insurance companies are the ones who will profit here. They are only going to reap more benefits from these additional 30 million people who will become insured, on our dime.
November is coming. And I will not forget.
In the meantime, I need to get this frustration out of my system.
